Coast to Coast

Only 8 weeks to go, hopefully we are about ready for the big event,
Coast to Coast helped to put everyone’s mind at rest,
generally all the equipment we tried worked
and everyone managed to navigate to the next campsite without getting to lost.

A few things didn't go as planned:
Moving the campsites proved to be more time consuming than we anticipated.
Total trust one Garmin satnav was a leap of faith when you were unsure.

Gear ratio’s for hill climbing are never low enough.

On the positive side we had some spectacular views and scenery,
We met some interesting people along the way.

We all completed the three days riding.

COAST-TO-COAST ROUTES AND RIDE DATA

Day 1
Ride distance 45.2 miles
Elevation 531 m or 1742 feet

Day 2
Ride distance 46.8 miles
Elevation 1514 m or 4967 feet

Day 3
Ride distance 41.7 miles
Elevation 1190 m or 3904 feet

Before coast to coast the elevation data was just a numbers, having gained first hand experience of riding up hills, elevation mean a lot more than just number, over 3000 feet you know you've done it.
Over the last week or so we have been reviewing the elevation data on the LEJOG route to try and keep each day below 3000 feet of elevation  and luckily for us we have managed it and we get to stay an extra evening in Cornwall.

C2C

This weekend we did coast to coast. We set off on Friday and arrived at St Bee's in the evening, ready for setting off Saturday morning.

Some of the gorgeous scenery on the way.
ST Bee's Head .

Day one ready for the start.

One of the Lakes we passed.

Waiting for them to arrive back after day one.

Here they come.

Back safe and sound.

On the second day we met a group of  riders who were also doing C2C and we were staying at the same campsite.

These riders had a support crew who fed and watered them set up there beds and carried all their bags, when they arrived back they had an iced bath ect......hot meal. They were raising money for Mcmillian nurses, sponsered by N Power.

Ready for the off Day 2.

Well we made it !!!!!!!
