Day 7, Saturday 6th September 2014

Orcop - Bishops Castle

Leaving Herefordshire and entering Shropshire once again everyone was taken by surprise at the speed we were moving through counties.

A few yards along the road beyond the border signs we found the river Teme a lovely shallow river with a brown rocky bottom lined with trees on both banks, just the sort of of spot for a picnic. Unfortunately for us it wasn't time to eat so we pressed on.

But it was time for a selfie

River Teme
As we travelled through the countryside around shropshire we came across many Tudor houses

As we rode along we came across a strange hedge in Bucknell, it can only be described as having humps and bumps?

In the afternoon we came across a ruin of a castle (Hopton Castle) that was being repaired

so we took the opportunity to take a break and have a look around inside

Looking through the window

the stone work inside had been repointed, it would have been an impressive when it was first built.

learning how to use the timer on the camera allowed everyone to get into the shot

later in the afternoon as we were heading towards Wentor the hills started rising in the distance

Finally arriving at Green Caravan Park set in the Onny Valley between the Long Mynd and Stiperstones Hills The area is designated as an area of natural beauty for good reason.

Day 7 completed and team photo with the Shropshire Hills as a Backdrop.
